Wayne Landry Trophy

Wayne Landry Trophy – Highest Aggregate Points

The Wayne Landry Trophy is awarded to the Baxter Cricket Club player who records the highest aggregate points for the season, with points accumulated across the major disciplines of the game — runs, wickets and catches. It therefore recognises the player who makes the strongest all-round contribution across the season.

The trophy honours Wayne Landry, one of Baxter Cricket Club’s genuine legends. Wayne represented the club at 1st XI level and has given extraordinary service away from the field, including decades on the committee and involvement in many of the club’s major initiatives.

By 2017, Wayne had already played more than 580 games across 52 seasons, scored more than 9,000 runs and taken 400 wickets, while having served on the committee for 47 years. His contribution was formally recognised in 2014 when Baxter’s main oval was named the Wayne Landry Oval in his honour.

The Wayne Landry Trophy is therefore a fitting award for sustained all-round contribution — reflecting the versatility, commitment and longevity that have defined Wayne’s remarkable association with Baxter Cricket Club.
